Bradley Cooper branded 'desperate' after studio submits his TWO

Bradley Cooper has been branded 'desperate' after his one-minute and 56-second cameo in ABC hit series Abbott Elementary has been submitted for consideration at the upcoming 76th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The 49-year-old Philly native played a thinly-veiled version of himself, who's recruited by Willard R. Abbott Elementary School second grader Khalil (Kaden Taylor) to be his show-and-tell while on the way to get 'the best hoagie in the city' at a nearby deli.

In the short scene, Bradley regaled the students with a sample of his famous Guardians of the Galaxy character: 'Are you frickin' kiddin' me? I'm the voice of Rocket Raccoon!'

At one point, a young girl asked Cooper: 'Shouldn't your teeth be whiter?'

'They should,' the two-time Grammy winner acquiesced. 'But I can't whiten them because they're too sensitive.'

All of the teachers including Janine Teagues - played by two-time Emmy-winning creator Quinta Brunson - are starstruck and excited to pose for a picture with Bradley before he pointed out to her: 'You know these schools are criminally underfunded.'

Season three, episode six - titled 'Willard R. Abbott' - of the critically-acclaimed mockumentary series aired on March 10, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences are scheduled to announce all the nominees on July 17.

ABC and awards strategists confirmed to Variety on Monday that the studio had submitted Cooper - who's never been nominated for an Emmy - for the competitive guest comedy actor category.

If 116 seconds of screen time sounds too short, the Academy's official rule is the performance has to be 'five percent of the total running time of the submitted episode,' which would make the 12-time Oscar nominee's scene 'nearly double the minimum requirement.'

'It wasn't even a memorable performance,' Reddit user @peter_parker23 wrote in a thread.

Reddit user @Meperkiz commented: 'I love Bradley Cooper and all but absolutely not. And he definitely doesn't stand a chance against the guest performances on The Bear.'

'Seriously. If we're giving awards to three-minute performanes, [The Crown's] Olivia Colman should have that in the bag,' wrote Reddit user @burbur12.

Cooper is also set to portray the titular San Francisco cop in Steven Spielberg's untitled Frank Bullitt film, which will be produced by Steve McQueen's son Chad McQueen and granddaughter Molly McQueen.
